Table9 Cafe & Kitchen, Bangsar, KL

Ever had a chicken schnitzel burger? Neither had I until I discovered the recently opened Table9 Cafe & Kitchen in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar. Helmed by a Korean chef, Min, the cafe serves mostly Italian / Western cuisine with a few Korean touches.

Back to the burger - it was an impressive, towering burger with a crispy, juicy chicken schnitzel patty, soft toasted buns, and comes with a side of delicious chunky fries. Highly recommended.

Try their Pressed Juices, such as the Sweet Paradise (RM14) - beetroot, pineapple, apple, orange.

My favorite dish here is the Table 9 Picante Cream Risotto (RM28). The risotto was perfectly cooked to al dente, creamy and slightly spicy, and loaded with a generous amount of seafood such as prawns, mussels and clams. We both love risotto and we agreed that this was absolutely superb.

Table9 offers over 10 types of pasta, from olive oil to cream to tomato based. We opted for a cream-based Alfredo pasta (RM24), served in a bread bowl (add on RM4.50). Apparently bread bowl pasta is quite a big thing in Korea. Other than pasta, they also do pizzas, salads and small bites.

For something light, you can order their Cup of Soup (RM12) - ask your server what the soup of the day is - we had the flavorful Tomato and Basil.

Orchard Salad (RM22) - mixed cut fruits with yogurt honey dressing

They also have All Day Breakfast, such as Table9 Breakfast (their version of the big breakfast with eggs, chicken sausage, beef bacon, grilled tomato, sauteed mushrooms, toast and hash brown - RM25) and you can substitute the toast with French toast or pancakes (add RM2).

We also enjoyed their Chicken Caesar Sandwich (RM24) - the bread was crisp and held the ingredients well together, and the filling was fresh and tasty. It comes with grilled chicken breast, Romaine lettuce an Caesar dressing, along with a side of fries.

Not to be missed is the Bingsu, the popular Korean shaved ice dessert. There are 8 flavours to choose from, from espresso to red bean mochi, Oreo, blueberry, green tea, tiramisu, mango to the slightly more unusual tomato bingsu and is priced at RM15 each. We had the Mango Bingsu and it was awesome! Over at Table 9, they use fresh milk to make the bingsu, we absolutely loved the fine, creamy texture of this dessert.  A nice size for one. Perfect for the hot Malaysian weather, it was a wonderfully refreshing end to our meal here at Table9.

Other than bingsu, they also have homemade cakes as well as tiramisu and freshly brewed coffee, using imported coffee beans from Korea.

  1. Was there any soup in the pumpkin? Looks like it is jam packed with all the ingredients! Love the sandwich, with all that in between!

    1. It's the same concept, but for the one u see above, it's purely pasta served in a bread bowl.
